Christi’s Baby Shower: Preview

Today I had the honor of meeting event planner Tricia Brock, and I took some shots for her friend Christi’s baby shower! Baby showers are such special events, and I was so glad to have gotten a chance to meet mom-to-be Christi and her friends & family.
I plan to have the shots finished by the end of this month, but here’s a preview. I absolutely love this shot of Christi and her mom!

…about photography? I picked out these shoes precisely because I thought they’d photograph *perfectly* for my engagement shoot! Have I scheduled an engagement shoot yet? Do I have an outfit to match? Have I booked a photographer yet? No! But I’ve got shoes. Priorities, right?
The Baby is Growing…

Well, little baby Julia turned one year old last month! She is SO cute! She’s turning out to be an inquisitive little girl. I was so happy to visit her & her mom a while back. It turns out, Julia likes the camera and wants to crawl towards it!

David & I went to visit relatives and give him a chance to meet my family! I am way late posting these, but here they are. We also visited the beach, which is very contemplative and quieter and has a different vibe. Anyway, here are the pictures!
This is my super-cute (and quite a handful!) nephew. He’s 5 years old and loves to tell you about it!
And now for some pictures of the beach! Despite David’s contemplative look, we actually laughed a lot on this trip!
Here I am, always with the camera (and I love the sparkly reflection)!
And my favorite, the aquarium! The jellyfish were easy to photograph.
An endless horizon. It’s often cloudy in this part of the state, and David captures it perfectly in this shot. Would you believe, it looks almost exactly the same in color as it does in black & white!

I’ve mentioned this fabulous new lens once or twice on this blog, and I just love it. One of the things I love to do between portrait jobs is practice my photography on other, non-human subjects. My favorites are flowers! Yes! It’s spring again, and I made a pilgrimage to the Ft. Worth Gardens to see what’s growing this month. Enjoy!
And finally, this last one I took while thinking of David’s brother-in-law Leo, who passed away tragically just last week. (Leo was the father to the children featured in a previous post.) Apparently daffodils were symbolic to him and were featured prominently at his memorial service.
