I have a good reason for not blogging sooner, and for the light shooting schedule — I got married! So today, I get to feature some photos other than my own.
My husband David and I were married one month ago today, and as I was writing some blog posts, I came across an email from our photographer, who has some preview photos up already! It’s great to remember what an incredibly joyous day this was for myself and my husband.
Here are some shots from the incomparable David Wittig (more preview images on his blog). Below that are two of my images from our wedding day. Later, I plan to post some shots from our honeymoon to Kaua’i.
We had a little portrait session where we pretended to shoot each other with our cameras. I, however, was not pretending. This is my husband and his new (old, 1955) Mamiya 6:
Mr. Wittig stepped in, and I got a quick shot of him as well. He’s the poor, overexposed soul behind this beautiful D3s. Sorry, David! I was… blinded by your brilliance? The camera looks great, though.
Working with the Wittigs was a dream come true. Years ago, when I added their blog (and those of several other photographers) to my RSS, it was solely because I admired their work. I didn’t even know if I would get married. For months after our engagement, I ran around like a chicken looking for the photographers with the perfect style… and it was right there in my RSS the whole time! I’m so glad they were there to capture our day. It was an honor (and also super-fun).
